Y’all, *Somebody’s Wife* by Robbi Renee is a wild, steamy ride that hits on Black love, Black excellence, and everything in between. The plot is a little taboo, sure, but honestly? I was into it. Jemma deserved all the good things after the life she’s been through, and this story delivered a journey of balancing desires, family obligations, and complicated pasts in such a real way.

And let’s talk about Zee for a second. Whew! From jump, I was hooked. He’s got this energy that just pulls you in—smooth, protective, and the perfect balance to Jemma’s fire. Their chemistry? Off the charts. He’s the kind of character you just can’t get enough of, and I adored him every step of the way.

The message of Black excellence runs strong in this book. It’s not just about the romance, but about knowing your worth and claiming the good things you deserve.

Mad props to Ms. Robbi for the creative ways she describes homegirl’s “molasses.” I mean, talk about next-level imagery—it was spicy and clever at the same time!

The plot had me hooked too. It’s got twists, emotions, and that perfect mix of love and drama that keeps you flipping pages.

That said, there were moments where the writing didn’t quite hit the mark. Some scenes felt rushed or underdeveloped, like they needed just a bit more time to breathe. The pacing, especially during some transitions, threw me off a couple of times.

And while the main characters were fire, some of the secondary ones felt a little flat, like they were there just to move the plot along. A little more depth there could’ve taken the story to the next level.

Jemma’s journey of love and self-worth is one you can’t help but root for, and Zee? Yeah, he’s gonna stick with me for a while. From now on, I would like to be addressed as pretty girl. Please and thank you!
