Process for New Authors

Step 1: Let’s Connect
Once you reach out, we’ll figure out the best way to stay in touch—whether you prefer email, phone, or video chat, we’ll make it work.

Step 2: Free Sample Edit & Getting Started
I’ll give you a free 1,000-word sample edit so you can see how I can enhance your writing. If you like what you see, I’ll draft a simple contract for us to sign.

Step 3: Secure Your Spot
To lock in your spot on my schedule, I’ll send you an invoice via PayPal for a 20% deposit.

Step 4: Manuscript & Additional Deposit
Before we start, you’ll send over your manuscript, and I’ll send an invoice for an additional 30% of the project price to begin the edit.

Step 5: Deep Dive into Editing & Ongoing Chats
I’ll dive into two rounds of editing, making multiple passes during each round. Throughout the process, I’ll keep you updated weekly and will be in touch almost daily to discuss any questions or ideas that pop up along the way.

Step 6: Final Payment & Delivery
One week before we wrap up, I’ll send the final invoice for the remaining 50%. Once that’s taken care of, I’ll deliver your polished manuscript along with a basic style sheet on the date agreed upon. If you’re getting a Developmental Edit, you’ll also receive a detailed development assessment report.

Step 7: Ongoing Support
Even after the project is finished, I’m still here for you! I’m available for any last-minute questions, advice, or quick edits before your publish date, so you never feel like you’re going it alone.
